While growing up I was like the average child. I would constantly change my mind on what I wanted to be when I grew up. I would decide what I wanted to do by what appealed to me at the time wether it be a firefighter or a chief. Once I got a bit older I filtered through all the possible jobs and thought I wanted to become a chief or a baker at a restaurant, while that sounded fun and I would enjoy to do I thought to myself and being a very independent child I came to the conclusion I wanted to own my own business. At this moment of my life that is still that I want to do with my life but now that college is just around the corner I have opened up to all the possible choices and career pathways that college will bring me. While exploring Career Cruiser and seeing what jobs were recommended to me I have decided to look toward what I originally had in mind and own my own business.
There are many ups and down with becoming a business owner. Starting your own business is a risky thing to do, its all about timing and capability to provide goods or services that are in demand. Against popular belief to become a successful business owner you don't need to go to college. A lot of people think that most people who own their own business went to college and and got a degree in entraptanuralship. Most people who's businesses become successful learn what works and what doesn't through experiences and failure and that is one thing I am willing to go though to achieve my goal of a successful, to learn from my failures. The fact of there always being failure is the single most biggest reasons why people quit their dreams of owning a booming business, because they are afraid to fail and won't pull through and move forward. With owning your own successful business there are also a lot of beneficial factors not just to the business owner but also the community. Some of the self benefits are not only being your own boss, which is a great benefit, but you can also choose the people you work with and who will represent your company. Along with that you have all the ability to challenge yourself and pursue your passion. Some of the communal benefits is giving back to the people of the community though goods or services; with that you are also creating jobs which is very important nowadays. Even though you are pursuing your passion there will be times where you will become stressed and it can become overwhelming at times. There will be times when your business will be slow or even going bankrupt, but these are the times where you have to make the stressful decision of weather to drop the business or adapt to the problem. Adapting to the problem isn't a guaranty to recover your business but more of a second chance and that is why owning your own business is a difficult task and why you should go to college and take business classes so you don't walk into the job blind and invest a lot of time and money for a business that wont succeed.
One question people always have for me when I say I want to own my own business is what type of business will I own and I have decided to combine the two things i've wanted to become and include the everyday necessity of coffee and own my own coffee shop which is also a bakery, so i can do both of the things that i am passionate about. Becoming a business owner is a huge risk I am willing to take and I will pursue all my time and energy into to get to the point in my life where I am happy with where I have come.
